Essential Recording Advice with b. Rey Aponte
Post-production audio specialist Bryan Aponte (a.k.a. Essential) visited The Los Angeles Recording School to talk to students about his professional experience in the music industry as well as to give them insight on what it takes to succeed.
Aponte, who has an extensive resume in mixing, engineering, audio sweetening, ADR, and foley work answered questions from the students after his presentation.
A two-time Emmy Award-nominated sound engineer, Aponte's professional credits include Notorious BIG: Ten Years Later, and TV shows and specials such as The Young and the Restless, Wild On (E!), Rap City (BET), Comic View (BET), and The Late Late Show (CBS). As an artist, he has had the privilege of sharing stages with artists
such as Mos Def, Common, Talib Kweli, Jill Scott, Jessica Care Moore,
the Roots, Saul Williams, Michael Bernard Beckwith, and many more.
